When you have sugar cravings at the end of every meal what do you do? Make this recipe! Now that Autumn is here and apples are in season, I wanted to share this recipe with you. This dessert is my number one sugar craving fixer. It is sweet, tart, crispy and way healthier than any Fall dessert that comes to your mind right now. I have been trying to cut down on my sugar intake for the past month and this has been my savior. With ingredients like cashew, apples and dates, how can this recipe ever go wrong? It can be made in less than 20 minutes. Off from the skillet into a bowl, this recipe will give you a chance to enjoy the warmth of Fall weather without the calories!

INGREDIENTS
- Apples — 1 (Gala or any sweet variety) and 1 (Granny smith or any tart variety)
- Pitted dates —8 to 10
- Cashew — 3/4 cup
- Salt — 1/8 teaspoon
- Vanilla — 1/4 teaspoon
- Ghee (clarified butter) or butter — 2 tablespoon (Dairy-free options in the notes)
- Cinnamon stick — 1/2 inch
DIRECTIONS
- Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.
- Chop the dates and cashews as well.
- Heat a skillet on medium and add the ghee. Let the ghee heat for 2 minutes.
- Add the cinnamon stick and let it bloom for about a minute or so. Then add the cashews and let them roast for about 1 minute, when the cashews start turning slightly brown add the apples and dates.
- Lower the heat and sauté for about 3 to 4 minutes. Then add the salt and vanilla extract.
- Let it sit in the skillet for about 3 minutes or so, then transfer it into a bowl to serve.
NOTES
- Ghee: Ghee can be replaced with unsalted or salted butter. If using salted, make sure to skip adding extra salt.
- Vegan or Dairy-free: Replace ghee with coconut or hazelnut oil instead.
